President Trump this week launched Freedom Haulers, a federal program that fast-tracks commercial driver's licenses for military veterans with hands-on heavy-vehicle experience from their service. The administration says it's already pulled more than 24,000 non-English speakers from behind the wheel and forced states to cancel another 28,000 CDLs unlawfully issued to illegal aliens. Veterans who qualify get up to 100% tuition coverage for approved CDL programs, with annual earnings around $70,000 on the other side.

Trump and DOT Secretary Sean Duffy deserve real credit. They saw a genuine safety problem, built a solution that puts the people who earned it first, and moved.

President Trump announced Thursday that his Board of Peace has reached what he called a "historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza," posting on Truth Social that the deal would be "carried out in carefully structured phases" with Israeli forces withdrawing as disarmament is completed and an International Stabilization Force stepping in alongside a new Palestinian police force. Four sources familiar with the matter told Axios that Hamas is expected to sign in the coming days. Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey mediated.

The announcement landed hours after Channel 13 News reported that Hamas had already sent the White House a letter in English requesting a 10-to-15-year truce under which Israel would halt targeted killings of senior Hamas officials and begin a gradual withdrawal. Israeli officials immediately rejected that framing, describing it to Israel National News as Hamas "spin" that doesn't correspond to the Trump framework agreed upon last October.

The strongest argument for taking Hamas at its word is that Iran, its primary weapons pipeline, has been badly degraded. That argument has a ceiling. Hamas has used every prior ceasefire to recruit, rearm, and train, and it can find weapons without Iranian logistics if it looks hard enough. Israel knows this better than anyone in the room.

Meanwhile, the Iran campaign itself is grinding. Fox News reports that Senate Republicans blocked another war powers resolution Thursday, the twelfth-plus attempt by Democrats in five months of fighting. Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., said flatly he hasn't been adequately briefed on munitions levels, and a Center for Strategic and International Studies report released Monday put the numbers in plain view: Patriot interceptor missiles down from 2,330 to 759, THAAD interceptors down from 452 to 234. Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps responded to overnight U.S. Strikes by threatening to "punish the aggressor today" and extending that threat to Gulf nations supporting Washington, per The Hill. Federal officials are also examining whether the IRGC's CyberAv3ngers unit, which Treasury sanctioned in February 2024, is behind a coordinated cyberattack that knocked out water controls across more than 30 Minnesota communities between July 26 and 27, hitting Plymouth, Braham, South St. Paul, and Maple Plain.

I'll say it plainly: if Hamas signs and submits to verified, phased disarmament, Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, and the people who said this could never be achieved should say so out loud. But "Hamas is expected to sign" isn't the same as Hamas signing, and a signed agreement Israel won't honor isn't a deal. The one number worth tracking is whether Israel comes to the table on terms it actually accepts. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., who flipped his war powers vote after a White House briefing he admitted he used as "use to get some information," put the broader situation as well as anyone: "a gradation, a murkiness, a vagueness."
