Trump Forces Penn to Strip Trans Athlete of Women’s Titles

In a massive win for female athletes, the University of Pennsylvania will strip Lia Thomas, a biological male, of her women’s swim titles and awards following a Title IX violation, the Department of Education announced Tuesday. The resolution agreement mandates that Penn reassign Thomas’s awards to the rightful female finishers and issue personal apologies to each of them. It also requires the university (Trump’s alma mater) to issue a public statement affirming its commitment to “biology-based” definitions of male and female and to bar transgender athletes from women’s teams going forward.

The move comes after President Trump signed an executive order on day one of his return to office affirming that the federal government recognizes only two sexes and threatening schools with loss of funding if they allow men to compete in women’s sports. The NCAA, which banned transgender women from female sports earlier this year, has not yet confirmed whether it will strip Thomas of her 2022 national title.

The decision is a major victory for Riley Gaines and the thousands of girls who were forced to compete on an uneven playing field. Even 75% of Americans agree that biological men should not compete in women’s sports—including many Democrats. This is an issue where Trump is in touch with the people, and the political ramifications are clear: Democrats like Jon Ossoff, who voted against protections for women’s sports, are now vulnerable. In Georgia, North Carolina, and Michigan, this issue could be decisive in 2026. As Rep. Buddy Carter runs to unseat Ossoff, he does so as a proven defender of women’s athletics, he has the momentum.

  • ⚖️ Wisconsin Liberals Strike 1849 Abortion Ban

The Wisconsin Supreme Court’s liberal majority struck down the state’s 176-year-old abortion ban, claiming newer laws superseded it. The 4–3 decision was expected, as liberal justices hold a majority and had previously expressed disdain for the law during campaign cycles and oral arguments. The ruling adds fuel to national battles over post-Roe abortion regulations.
