Shooter Dead After Border Patrol Ambush

A 27-year-old man opened fire on a U.S. Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas early Monday morning, injuring three federal employees before being fatally shot by law enforcement. The attacker, identified as Ryan Louis Mosqueda, was armed with an assault rifle and wore a utility vest. According to McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez, Mosqueda fired dozens of rounds at the facility and agents before officers returned fire and killed him.
Two officers and one Border Patrol agent were hospitalized, one with a gunshot wound to the knee. The shooting occurred shortly after 6 a.m., just two hours after Mosqueda was reported missing. He had no criminal record but had recently traveled from Michigan.
This brazen attack is just the latest in a string of targeted violence against immigration enforcement agents, which critics say is fueled by inflammatory rhetoric from the left. As reported by RedState, similar incidents have escalated across the country, from ICE detention center violence to aggressive protests outside federal buildings.
The White House and DHS have condemned the assault, calling it part of a broader pattern of dangerous agitation. Democrat lawmakers are facing pressure from radical activists to escalate confrontation, with some even urging direct action inside federal facilities. Reports from Portland show that tensions remain high nationwide.
The violence is unacceptable. As law enforcement faces growing threats, we must pray for the families of the injured and stand firm against the dangerous climate being cultivated by radicalized political rhetoric.

Trump Threatens More Tariffs for BRICS Bloc

As the tariff extension deadline approaches, President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to countries aligning with the anti-American policies of BRICS. In a July 7 White House statement, Trump threatened to impose an additional 10% tariff on all imports from BRICS-aligned nations starting August 1, declaring, “There will be no exceptions to this policy.”
Trump’s April 2 “Liberation Day” tariffs already introduced a minimum 10% import tax for most countries, with another round of “reciprocal” tariffs initially delayed to July 9. This deadline has now been pushed again, giving countries a final chance to distance themselves from BRICS or face stiffer economic consequences.
BRICS—originally Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—has expanded in 2024 to include Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Indonesia, and the UAE. The bloc represents nearly 45% of the world’s population and has increasingly sought to challenge U.S. influence on global trade and finance. Leaders at their July 6 summit in Brazil warned that retaliatory tariffs could harm global commerce.
But Trump’s message is clear: participating in the American economy is a privilege, not a right. Nations hostile to U.S. interests will pay a premium to do business with us.
